Rural Utiities Services Financing Update

RUS is an agency within the U.S. Department of Agriculture which provides loans and loan guarantees to finance investments in distribution, transmission, generation, renewable energy, demand side management, conservation, and energy efficiency for the purposes of providing or improving electric power service in rural areas.  RUS provides financial and technical assistance to rural communities - primarily of electric cooperatives, public power entities (municipal utilities, public utility districts, and public power districts), and tribal utilities.

This webinar provides an overview of RUS programs, eligibility requirements, and their desire to partner with municipalities serving rural areas.  The speaker highlights some areas of focus such as renewable energy, smart grid, and their soon to be finalized program for retail energy efficiency.
