This publication discusses the emerging energy supply systems of distributed generation and the effect they will have on municipal utilities.

Written by Leidos Engineering, the guidebook covers:

1.      Distributed Generation and Its Value Proposition: This section offers a working definition of DG and describes the major DG technologies — thermal, renewable, and energy storage. The section also describes the unique value propositions that each technology brings to customers and the host utility.

2.       Drivers of DG Customer Uptake: This section describes the factors — economics, policy and regulations, and energy use — that drive DG uptake, by customer type.
